Tell us a little bit about yourself
I’m a twenty something geeky girl
who fall in love with art and fashion. I’m forever obsessed with closet
and clothing, and in between that obsession, I’m busy juggling my time
working full time as a Content Editor of a noted retail company in
Indonesia, and also working part time as Freelance Graphic Designer and
Fashion Blogger.
Why is fashion important to you and how did you first get interested in fashion?
I realize I love fashion since I was
playing all day long changing- and pairing, clothes and shoes for my
Barbie dolls. However, growing up on a small city, I wasn’t took my
passion in fashion seriously. Instead, I took art as my major and moved
to bigger city where I finally got my bachelor degree.
Up until my last years on the
university, I realize that fashion really is my passion as I love to
style things up from my closet, and even more when my friends asked me
for fashion advise. So fashion is definitely a big deal in my life as
it’s actually a long-buried passion that I’d like to pursue.
What are your passions?
Obviously, my passions are in fashion and art.
Tell us about your blog. Why did you start writing?
I started blogging about my personal
style since October 2010. I didn’t know much Indonesian fashion
bloggers back then, so I was inspired to make my own personal fashion
blog by many international bloggers on a noted fashion outlet- some of
them was Andy Torres of Style Scrapbook and Kristy of Monochromachic. I
was a self-photo-shooter at first, with my camera, a wireless remote,
and a tripod as my best-friends.
I love finding (and hunting) new places and backgrounds for my
outfit photos on my blog. But here in my country, everywhere is so
crowded and people are staring (I know that’s rude, right?). So I kinda
have a bunch of interesting and funny stories of all my time taking
self-photos on public places. It’s quite an experience in blogging I
must say.
My blog is about my daily doodle in vogue (coz I just love doodling!).
I have my new clothing (online) shop coming up this month, as I
always has this huge craze on having my own big label in fashion.
Describe your personal style and who is your inspiration?
I would describe my style to be 60’s
girly girl who loves to wear mini skirts, mini dresses, and shorts in
retro style with a bit of hippie twist. And the style icons I’m forever
obsessed and inspired with are Brigitte Bardot, Jean Shrimpton, Audrey
Hepburn, Talitha Getty, Charlotte Free, Susie Bubble, Nicole Richie,
Natalie Joos and Zooey Deschanel.
What’s your opinion on Indonesia’s fashion scene? What makes us unique?
I think Indonesia’s fashion is sooo
rich in colors and patterns, particularly on our native fashion. Thus,
it’s easier to find many Indonesians (both bloggers and designers) can
mix and play with different colors and styles perfectly.
Favorite designers and places to shop?
Designers I dare to go broke
for: Betsey Johnson, Tsumori Chisato, Keiichi Muramatsu, Elizabeth and
James, Rag & Bone, J.Crew, and Elie Saab.
My favourite places to shop are local thrift market, shopping malls, and of course, I’m a big sucker for online shops.
